SFDA, represented by Food Sector, is hosting the food expert, Dr. Hamdi Ahmed, Director of Meat Researches Laboratory , University of Arizona, Tusan USA, to participate in the revision of the work plan of the study entitled:“ Assessment of Spread of Key Disease –Causing Microbes Carried by Food in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, that will be conducted by Food Sector.
The Expert will participate with the study taskforce in the development of microbiological analysis laboratory, identifying its requirements and in the development of the required programs to improve the efficiency of laboratory technicians in order to meet the objectives of this study.
The results of the above study are expected to contribute to assessment of the risks of microbes in food and in the development of plans to control and eliminate the spread of these food poisoning microbes.
Food Sector will deliver a lecture during the expert’s visit program entitled: “ Global Trends in Control & Surveillance Studies of Emerging Disease- Causing Microbes in Food”. He lecture will be delivered in the main auditorium, second floor, SFDA Head Office, on Sunday 29/4/1432H (03/04/2011G )at 10:00 AM. SFDA invites all concerned and interested parties to attend this lecture.
