The SFDA, represented by its food sector, intends to organize a workshop entitled: '' General Vision for a National Plan to Examine Residues of Drugs and Hormones in Food of Animal Origin" lectured by Dr. Baveules Economedis, an European Union Expert, on Wednesday 17-9-1429H that equals 17-9-2008, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the lectures hall at the SFDA headquarter.
His Excellency Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize, the executive vice president of food affairs, stated that this is one of the SFDA preparations to the implementation of the national plan to examine pollutants in food; as the lecturer will refer to the role of different authorities in the plan, plans to withdraw specimens of animal origin food, requirements of laboratories and plants: capabilities, needs and methods of laboratory analysis.
The invitation is sent to Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, Health and Municipality and Rural affairs, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, number of King Saud University faculty and some of SFDA concerned members.
