SFDA  temporarily embargoed imports of poultry meat, table eggs and products from  British Colombia, Canada,  due to  presence of severe Bird Flu infections.

In a statement, SFDA  pointed out that thermally treated poultry products or products that are treated using any other method that guarantees they are free from bird flu virus, will be excused from this embargo, provided that they conform to health and approved specifications and requirements, according to an official and stamped health certificate from the respective Canadian Health Authorities proving that they are thermally treated or treated by any other method that guarantees they are free from bird flu virus.

SFDA also pointed out that this temporary embargo will continue until stability of  the health of animal resources in Canada.
